During treatments, many patients will feel mild to moderate heat sensation, equivalent to a “heating pad.” There is no noted pain or discomfort associated with the Vanquish treatments.
Treatments are typically 30 minutes to 45 minutes long, and we recommend 4-5 treatments with 7 days to 10 days in between treatments for you body to naturally flush away the wasted fat. Since there is no down time, patients can go back to their regular duty after treatments with most treatments being done during lunch time.

Neurotoxins (Botox, Dysport, Xeomin) are used to treat a variety of medical conditions but are mostly known in the field of cosmetic medicine. Neurotoxins paralyze muscles temporarily and are commonly used in the forehead, crows feet and glabella (frown lines) to treat fine lines and wrinkles. Neurotoxins relax the muscles in the area of the wrinkle thereby relaxing the wrinkle or crease. Botox can be done as a separate procedure or can be an adjunct to other treatments such as a filler like Juvederm or Volluma.

As we age, we start losing bone mass and fat in the face causing wrinkles and folds. Our body also produces less collagen which also affects skin laxity. Environmental factors such as pollution, sun exposure and dehydration can accelerate the rate at which our face ages. To combat these changes, many of our patients are starting their preventative care at an earlier age by getting pharmaceutical skin care products, facials, Botox and injectable fillers.
Injectable fillers (Voluma, Juvederm, Volluma, Radiesse) are popular non-surgical treatments that are performed at Marcadis Watt Plastic Surgery and Medical Spa. Injectable fillers, unlike Botox, can treat volume loss, uneven skin texture, and wrinkles to achieve an overall younger more youthful look. The 4 areas that fillers are most commonly used are lips, cheeks, nasolabial folds, and marionette lines.
Kybella injections for permanent removal of unwanted Axilla (arm pit) fat are available at Marcadis Watt Plastic Surgery. Kybella’s active ingredient, deoxycholic acid, breaks down the absorption of dietary fat. This naturally occurring molecule in the body destroys fat cells which enables the cells to no longer store fat. Therefore once desired results are achieved, further treatment is not expected.

The popular Hollywood secret is out and the statistics show that Platelet Rich Plasma Treatments (PRP) commonly referred to as the Vampire Facial, has become one of the most effective and popular anti-aging procedures. The PRP technique uses the patient’s own growth factors to provide an overall rejuvenation effect. The various growth factors improve the quality of the skin and texture, provide a reduction of fine lines and wrinkles, and also have the ability to tighten and tone. Growth factors have been prevalent in skin care products for years. PRP has modernized this concept by allowing you to use the best growth factors out there, your own plasma.
Results vary from patient to patient; On average, patients receive 3 treatments spaced one month apart. Optimal results are seen about 2 months after the last treatment. Many patients report seeing a benefit of the PRP treatment a few weeks after the first to second treatment.
Each treatment is typically about 45 minutes to an hour. Patients are required to use topical numbing cream 30-45 minutes prior to treatment. At the appointment, the practitioner will draw a small tube of blood; a similar amount required for a basic lab test. After the blood sample is collected, the practitioner will place the blood into a centrifuge that spins the blood to separate the platelets enriched with growth factors from other components of the blood.
The practitioner will then inject the platelet rich plasma (PRP) into areas of concern and will also use the micro-needling technique to place the rest of the PRP around the surrounding skin.
All of the products used in this process are derived exclusively from the patient, so there is virtually no risk of an allergic reaction. To eliminate any risk of intolerance, please discuss and disclose all medications and medical history with your practitioner.
